Feels (solo exhibition) / 11th October – 28th October 2017 / Rubicon ARI, level 1/309 Queensberry Street North Melbourne.
Jessie Willow Tucker uses landscapes and bodies of water as metaphors for emotional experience. She creates nostalgic fantasy worlds, which are interrupted by graphics and text, making reference to the commodification of imagery in mass culture.
Feels is an exploration of buzz-words, big feelings and multiple meanings. Jessie is interested the conscious act of meaning creation and how this relates to art, magic and relationships. She uses humour to step back and observe the dramas of intense self-reflection.
